The world’s most admired men and women are renowned global figures whose influence and impact transcend globally. YouGov compiled the list of most admired personalities of 2021:

1. Barack Obama
Former 44th President of the United States and first African-American President of the United States, 60-year-old Barack Obama retained the top spot in the list. He was first elected to the presidency in 2008, won a second term in 2012. Owning to his immense popularity and erudite speeches, Obama was even hailed as one of the greatest presidential speakers in modern history. He is one of the most influential men in the world and has always been a favourite among the people, in the US as well as in other countries.
2. Bill Gates
The fourth richest person in the world with a fortune of $137 billion, Bill Gates retained the second spot in the list of the World’s Most Admired men in 2021. Bill Gates is an American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, philanthropist, co-founder and largest shareholder of Microsoft. He studied at Lakeside School in Seattle, where he learned about computers. There he meets Paul Allen, who will also be at the origin of Microsoft. He then took courses at Harvard before dropping out in 1975. He was then CEO of Microsoft from 1975 to 2000.
3. Xi Jinping
The current president of China since 2013, Xi Jinping retained the third spot in the list of the World’s Most Admired men 2021. Born in 1953 in Shaanxi province, Xi Jinping’s father was Xi Zhongxun, who served as China’s deputy prime minister and was an early ally of Mao Zedong. Since he became the president of China he has embraced the teachings of Confucius more than any other Chinese Communist leader.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo
World’s most popular and loving football player Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the fourth spot in the list of the World’s Most Admired men 2021. From being raised in a hard environment that would make even the strongest of men crumble to becoming one of the greatest athletes, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to overcome every obstacle thrown at him. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals in UEFA Champions League history. He has also won five Champions League titles, which is the second-most by a player in history.
5. Jackie Chan
Jackie chan is a Hong Kong actor who acted in many successful Hollywood films as an action hero grabbed the fifth spot in the list of World’s Most Admired men 2021.
6. Elon Musk
The world’s richest person with a net worth of $243 billion, Elon Musk ranked sixth in the list of the World’s Most Admired men in 2021. Elon Musk is a man of many achievements. One of its companies, Tesla, is popularizing electric cars and revolutionizing the automotive industry. Another, SpaceX, is finally taking the Americans back into space after nine years of relying on Russian rockets. He even designed a potentially revolutionary transport system, Hyperloop, and opened up the idea to anyone interested in making it a reality.
7. Lionel Messi
Argentine footballer Lionel Messi who is also the captain of the national team is in the 7th spot in the World’s Most Admired men 2021. Messi is without a doubt the best footballer on the planet right now. The talent he possesses is just at a different level. Lionel Messi is one of a kind and the football skills he displays show that he is just out of this world and from another planet.
8. Narendra Modi
Current Indian Prime Minister and longest-serving CM of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, Narendra Modi grabbed the 8th spot in the list of the World’s Most Admired men 2021. Combining Modi’s tenures as a chief minister and the prime minister, he is one of the longest-serving heads of the elected government in India.
9. Vladimir Putin
The Russian politician, former intelligence officer and current Russian president since 2012, Vladimir Putin ranked 9th in the list of World’s Most Admired men 2021.
10. Jack Ma
Co-founder and former executive chairperson of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma is the 10th person in the list of the World’s Most Admired men 2021. Jack is one of the richest men in China and one of the richest and most influential in the world.
11. Warren Buffett
The 9th richest person in the world, Warren Buffet is a renowned investor who experienced wealth by carefully choosing the companies in which he wanted to invest money. He has made many investments through his company Berkshire Hathaway which owns more than 60 companies, in which he is the majority shareholder. Buffett donated over $45 billion to the Gates Foundation and his kids’ foundations and promised to donate over 99% of his wealth.
12. Sachin Tendulkar
Former captain of the Indian cricket team also known as the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar grabbed 12th spot in the list of World’s Most Admired men 2021. When we hear the name Sachin Tendulkar, well the terms legend and icon are pretty much what spring at us. After all, for 24 years the man was the identity of Indian cricket. Yes, his era did see the likes of Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid emerge, but Sachin had a separate aura since his debut in 1989.
